During the SharePoint conference in May this year, Microsoft has announced a new initiative called 'Microsoft Training Services'. The premise of this initiative is to deliver customised training content direct to your Office 365 tenant so that you can choose various training videos and other materials and deliver them to your end users (internal) using a training portal built in SharePoint.

Microsoft Training Services delivers training content from an Azure-hosted content store to a Web part hosted on the customer’s SharePoint communication site. A similar package can be installed that will provide the full Toolkit for Teamwork SharePoint Online full site experience.

If you want to know more about Microsoft Training Services, check out this blog post from Microsoft Tech Community site.

Microsoft Training Services was a great initiative, and many people in the community have expressed interest and signed up for the pilot waitlist. The initial launch was planned for July 2018. However, the pilot launch did not happen till date, and there is no mention of Microsoft Training Services in the recent Microsoft Ignite 2018 conference.

I have done some digging and reached out to a few people at Microsoft for an update on this service. Here is an update from Mark Kashman, Senior Product Manager at Microsoft.

According to the above tweet, Microsoft Training Services is now Microsoft Learn.

What is Microsoft Learn?

Microsoft Learn is a one-stop shop for self-paced, guided learning on all [Microsoft] platform products and services. - Jeff Sandquist.

Microsoft Learn is currently providing bite-sized learning content on Azure and Power Platform services. The learning content is delivered based on your job role and has gamification built-in.

Check out the below tweet from Jeff to know more about Microsoft Learn.

With the launch of this new service, I am still wondering if the promise of delivering customised training content to individual Office 365 tenants is still a thing?

I will update this post if I come across more details related to Microsoft Learn. I am particularly interested in Office 365 related learning content and how it can be delivered to end users.

At Modern Work Academy, we believe in delivering Office 365 training by showing users how to create practical business solutions using Office 365 services. We are currently putting together easy to follow learning content by bringing in community members onto a single learning platform. Stay tuned for more details.
